Why do I feel so much inner conflict and can’t seem to make a decision?

Internal Family Systems recognizes inner conflicts as polarized parts. Polarized parts are understood as parts of the psyche that is battling for control, attention and for their idea to be heard and followed up on. For instance, many people may experience polarization when they notice a goal to be productive towards building their business or losing weight. They have it perfectly planned out what they need and want to to but when it comes to taking action they notice a strong desire to rest. They may become instantly overwhelmed when thinking of all the things they need to do towards their goal. This Productive part and Leisure part are in conflict with each other. Since there are No- bad- Parts each part needs to be heard, such as in a court hearing. They both have valid points and desire to have their case heard and respected. When we take the time to hear each part we then realized that both parts  actually want the same thing- to make sure the person is safe and has enough reserve to balance work and rest.  When we take the time get to know each part they no longer need to be in a standoff battle and oppositions with each other and can actual work together towards a solution.
